Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work....For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Even in Death Christ Rested on the Sabbath


"Christendom in general believes
--that our Lord was crucified on Friday,
--lay in the tomb on Saturday, the 7th day of the week,
--and rose from the dead on Sunday, the first day of the week.
Q: How does Luke describe the day on which Christ rested in the tomb?
A: “The Sabbath day according to the commandment.” Luke 23:56."
